Consumption - What did you consume today?
Please make a list for your usage of the following substances
Water- Drank 4 bottles of water and took a 5 minute shower. Flushed the toilet once or twice. Washed my hands 3 or 4 times.
Food- I ate a plate of ziti and meatballs at 12 and a bag of potato chips at 5.
Electricity- My TV stays on all day even if I’m not watching it. Have to charge my phone and computer too. Also had to charge my ipod.
Gasoline (fossil fuels)- Drove to the gym and then to school to attend the 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Then back home.
$$Money$$ - What did you spend money on today?- No money spent today
2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?
I have been trying to cut back the amount of money I spend per week, and I feel like I have done a good job of this. I also am looking to cut back the amount of meat I consumer per day, and I have been doing well.
3. Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term? Can you reduce your consumption permanently? Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples.
I believe if I can save up my money like I have been doing than I can use it to buy more things that will benefit my long term, like college for example. Hopefully I can keep it up because it would be good to have money for that.
4. What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers? Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way? Will you adjust your own actions as a result of their post?
Everyone is doing fantastic. Everyone has bought into the full ideals of this project. I’m so proud.

2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?
I looked to maximize efficiency with my food sources yet still stay comfortable. I only had one big meal today and I feel great. If I can keep comfortable with this lifestyle it will make me a better person, indeed.
3. Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term? Can you reduce your consumption permanently? Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples.
I really want to limit the amount I eat every day to be enough to fill me up and that is it. No snack foods. I believe I can do this permanently because it is a personal choice and it is my decision if I go through with it. Anyone can do it if they focus on it.
4. What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers? Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way? Will you adjust your own actions as a result of their post?
All of my followers had very good posts that deeply affected my life. Not one single post stood out but I saw the bar that people set and I’m looking to live by that. I will definitely adjust so I can do the most from this project.
Seven Day Challenge: Day One
*This is for Sunday November 13, 2011
1. 1. Consumption - What did you consume today?
Please make a list for your usage of the following substances
Water- It’s all I drank today. I probably drank 4 or 5 sixteen oz. cups over the course of the day. I got all my water from the tap. We don’t do bottled water over here.
Food- I had a protein shake after the gym, a salisbury steak TV dinner around 2 o’clock then Papa Ginos for dinner. I usually only eat two big meals a day and this day was an ordinary eating day for me.
Electricity- My XBOX was played for about 3 hours. My TV stays on all day even if I’m not watching it. Have to charge my phone and computer too. Microwaving my TV dinner earlier.
Gasoline (fossil fuels)- Driving the car, and turning on the heat at my house
$$Money$$ - What did you spend money on today?- I spent money on dinner at Papa Ginos
1. 2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?
I try to not use too much electricity. We rely on mass amounts on electricity every day to fulfill our technological needs, but I only try to use the bear minimum of what I need. I also looked to try to cut on my gasoline usage by walking to get food instead of driving two minutes down the road. An environmental choice, indeed.
1. 3. Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term? Can you reduce your consumption permanently? Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples.
I need to start cutting down on electricity usage. I have been trying to take out my chargers right after they reach 100% so I don’t waste any electricity. I believe I can keep up this lifestyle for a long time because it is something simple yet effective. Saving electricity both benefits my family’s pocket and the environment.
